Office Installation Timeline: What to Expect From Start to Finish

Clear communication is key to a smooth installation. At RDI – ReceiveDeliverInstall, our proven step-by-step process keeps projects on track from the moment furniture leaves the manufacturer to the final walkthrough. Here’s what a typical installation timeline looks like.

Step 1: Receiving & Inspection

  • Furniture shipments are sent directly to our secure warehouse.
  • Our team inspects for damage, verifies quantities, and organizes product by project.

Catching issues early prevents costly delays on installation day and gives project managers time to address missing or damaged items with the manufacturer.

Step 2: Warehousing & Storage

  • Product is stored safely in our facility until the job site is ready.
  • Inventory is tracked and staged for delivery according to your schedule.

Clients don’t always have space on-site to receive large shipments. Warehousing gives you flexibility to coordinate with construction schedules, building access, or phased move-ins.

Step 3: Delivery & Site Access

  • Our crews transport product to the site, coordinating with security, elevators, docks, and staging areas.
  • Protective measures are used wherever possible to minimize impact on walls, floors, and property.

Smooth access planning reduces downtime and prevents disruption for tenants, employees, or other trades working in the space.

Step 4: Installation & Assembly

  • Furniture is assembled, leveled, and installed according to the approved layout plan.
  • Installers work around other trades if needed and keep the space organized as the project progresses.

This is where the design vision comes to life. Attention to detail ensures furniture is functional, aligned, and professional in appearance.

Step 5:  Final Clean & Project Closeout

  • All packaging and debris generated by RDI is removed, and our team wipes down surfaces and furniture so the space is clean, safe, and ready for use.
  • A project lead receives signed paperwork from the onsite contact and communicates any issues with the project manager. Then, our office staff sends the signed paperwork along with any punch items.

The walkthrough is your opportunity to verify that expectations were met, and your client’s chance to see the finished product exactly as designed.

Why This Timeline Works

RDI takes the guesswork out of installation day, giving project managers a clear, professional process from receiving to walkthrough. A clear timeline builds trust, minimizes disruption, and ensures every workspace is ready to perform.

Keep your next project on time and stress-free.
